Big Happie Hair Bumpits

Ok so i am sure every girl out there has seen the commercial for the Big Happie Hair Bumpits. As an easily convinced consumer, i had been wanting these things since i saw them but i am not very into buying things off TV, i dont like paying for shipping. I did however see them at Sally's as a i was buying my polish. I hesitated but I kept seeing the Ads for them on TV and i had to go back for them. It is a set of 5half moon comb looking things and you are supposed to put them into your hair. I am still uncomvinced about them. Maybe it is because i already have big happy hair (i think their deliberate mispelling 'happie' is stupid...) but i cannot get them to work. If you only use one you get just one weird bump in your hair. If you use 2 or more you can see thru your hair that there is an empty space, especially in the sun. The little combs teeth looking things also stick out of your hair. I dont know if this only works for straight hair, since i got a perm and now i have beach sexy waves ( its my own definition haha) I DID NOT like this product. It was not as easy as they made it seem in the commercial, nothing ever is though. I will straighten my hair and give them another shot, maybe i am doing it wrong. But for not the Bumpits have a bad grade in my book and will stay in their box punished.

NAIL POLISH!

I have a deep love for nail polish especially China Glaze. Steph and I went to sally's beauty supplies and they had buy 2 get 1 free plus i have a sallys discount card which gets you 5.99 polish for 3.49, so you'd get 3 for like the price of one. I got Watermelon Rind which looks exactly like it sounds...a mixture of green with green shimmer that looks like all the colors of a watermelon. Pink Voltage is a very LOUD hot pink. Celtic Sun is a mellow yellow with a bit of shimmer. I think i might go back for more because my sallys card is about to expire. which makes me sad. So i guess i should stock up on polish before my discount runs out.

will you buy me Disco Becky's with Aqua Stones??

True religion has a funny way of punishing me while i am down. Now that my cushy job is gone they decide to flood the market with their new line of "disco' jeans. They are all the TR's but with rhinestone accents on the buttons. I have some of the styles already without rhinestones. This post is not about buying them though because at this time i unfortunatly cannot afford them. They have them with clear rhinestones and they also have aqua rhinestones, my favorite color. So Sad. Marissa and I were shopping at J&O and i saw them, i wanted to try them on but i knew i would end up buying them if i did. She said with this economy, who buys $150 jeans? and she told me to go to micheals and buy rhinestones and stick them on my old ones, somewheat of a good idea. But i still want them... Maybe mommy will give me some money so i can buy them in Vegas for my BDAY... Just maybe

seamstress...

I found the nicest lady that tailors your jeans for a small price. I took in 8 pairs of my favorite jeans and she did wonders. I know this has little to do with shopping but now i can buy jeans that are on sale even if they are a little big. which is the problem i constantly have. So in a way it is a great find for my shopping habit.

Summerfruit.

The BEST color ever invented by MAC has to definetely be SUMMERFRUIT cremestick liner. It is THE perfect nude lips color at least for me. I go thru these little liners like water. I wish they would make a lipstick this color. The closest and the second best color ever invented by mac is underplay which is a nude-ey color as well. I cannot live without these two colors in my makeup bag. The good thing is that it takes me longer to go thru these lipsticks but since i discovered it i have gone thru maybe 4 tubes of it. At any given time i have 2 tubes around. One in my car, one in my purse or something like that. I went in only for my summerfruit, as i go in very month, but walked out with both because i only had one around for a while. Turns out my other Underplay was hiding under the seat of my car. Now i have 3.

True Religion

My new perfume addiction is definitely the new True Religion perfume! the bottle that it comes in is waaaaayyyy cute. As a true religion addict i was excited to smell their perfume. It does smell very light and sweet like something that you could get from a body splash like at VS or BBW but i love the scent anyways. It is light and fruity and perfect for summer. I keep it in my car and the good thing is that its sooo light that you can really overspray.

metallic bikini for SB

Ok so i every year my aunt sends me bathing suits for spring break because she has a factory that makes them in california. she has contracts with big companies like roxy, blue sky, esprit, victoria's secret, betsey johnson, ed hardy, i think vix but im not sure and this year she got true religion! Unfortunatly i did not call her in time for her to ship me some so i bought this cute one from Victoria's secret. I love blue, i love metallic and it was really cute for the beach. I also got it really fast like in 5 days. When i got to the beach though, i saw 2 girls wearing it at the beach
:( That makes me sad because it never happens to me. i know it sounds spoiled but i always get bathing suits from my aunt that are not even in stores yet. and i really hate wearing the same thing as someone else.

VS reward cards are back!!

So i have been going to Victoria's Secret more than usual lately. Their Secret Reward cards are back! Secret Rewards are these cards you get every time you purchase more than $10 in store that have a guaranteed value of at least $10. The cards are handed out for a month and you have to wait until the following month to see how much your cards are worth Last year i won $500 on one of these cards. So basically if you go in and buy a lip gloss for $12, you are getting a guaranteed $10 back so you can spend the next month. The cards can have a value of $10, $50, $100 or $500 as i luckyly (is that a word?) found out last year. I ussually shop there 2 or 3 times a month, but this month i have racked up 4 visits already and i make sure i pay things separately to get more cards! I know it's just an evil trick to get you to shop more but you can combine the value in these cards like gift cards so even if all of the cards i get are worth $10, i can combine say 5 to get a $50 bra or bathing suit. It's my little way of stimulating the economy.

someone should pay me to shop

On Tuesday i went to a Lancome welcome school that showed us all the fun new makeup stuff we are going to recieve throughout the year. There are lots of exciting new product i can't wait to try and buy. Since the meeting was in mcallen we stopped at the outlets to shop at the Lancome outlet in Mercedes. I wasn't driving, we would have just gone to the mcallen mall (joe brand is the only store in south texas that sells most of the Juicy line.) I did however buy a Star Bronzer Poudre in Lumiere. This bronzer has a back story. In high school, they had a limited edition bronzing brush. This bronzer is serously the perfect color and it doesnt rub off alot on clothes. A friend of mine Melissa, used to have this magic bronzing brush, seriously thats what it was called, and we used to pass it around like the village bicycle, we must have gone through about 5 of those brushes in senior year. We were like a group of 6 i think though. we used it for everyday, for night, for the beach for blush, for all over body bronzer, for shadow you name it. So now they only sell the pressed powder but it's ok since its a great color. so i got that and an absolue powder that gives you a luminous glow. Now if i can only get myself to use it before noon.

Like a Penguin

I hate that i can never get good pictures of black clothes

I thought this little penguin tuxedo jacket was so cute when i first saw it. But at 198 it wasn't THAT cute. As always i waited for it to go on sale because i knew it would. Since it is not a typical 'brownsville' style item i wasn't that worried about it. It is by plastic island and perfectly fitted. There was only one extra small left just for me. I don't quite know what i am going to wear this with, maybe jeans and a tank top to start off but we will see where this little peguin jacket takes us.

Jagger By Sky Brand

If you have seen the show Real Housewives of Orange County you have probably notices their casual yet over the top clothing. They are notorious for their bejeweled dresses and tops with chains, leather and rhinestone accents. It's sort of an amped up version of BEBE Their clothing is all thanks to Sky Brand. The sad part is that they don't sell Sky Brand anywhere close. Maybe at the Saks outlet in mercedes but i haven't checked. The good part is that they do sell Jagger at dillards, which is a subdivision of Sky. It's pretty much the same thing. It is not an imitation though. I have seen several tops and dresses at charlotte and agaci (when i happen to walk in there...uuugh) with cheap looking chains and rhinestones. Jagger and Sky use great quality metal chains that will not rust or get the clothing dirty or leave you marks for that matter. The weight of the embelishments is also meant to help the article of clothing drape better over the body, which is another difference between Sky and imitations. The imitations usually have very light chains and plastic rhinestones that don't weight down the material. I came across these 2 dresses but my only concern was what shoes go with the striped one. The black dress has a faux sleeve, the bottom of the sleeve is open so it's not hot. I can never have too many LBD's (little black dress) Since the Striped dress has sort of amber rhinestones i guess i need all gold sandals or heels, or another solid color from the stripes like blue or brown. They will join my growing collection of Jagger/Sky dresses and tops. I like that these are kind of unique pieces especially in the valley and i always get compliments on them.

shopping in the little boys section.

I can't help it when stuff fits me in the little boys section. Sometimes they have really good deals on little boys clothing and you might not find the equivalent in the little girls section, or the ladies/junior section for that matter. I've been looking for some cute button ups for when i go to the ranch with cesar (even though that is not going to happen again because we broke up AGAIN and i bought these before, but that beside the story) I found these adorable ralph lauren button ups , the pink is pretty girly looking and the plaid one i think i can worl with. The only thing that gives them away is that mens and women's shirts button on opposite sides.
For Example

Here is a little history lesson in case you didn't know. Men's shirts have buttons on the right side because they are supposed to dress themselves. Women's shirts buttons are on the left because their servants would dress them and their garments were made to be easily buttones by right handed servants.

RUFFLES!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE ruffles. Today's find at dillards was this adorable Kensie dress with lots and lots of RUFFLES! I could not get a picture because it is black. It is becoming a habit of mine to google pictures for whatever i buy since alot of it is black and my camera won't take good pictures but i will make sure to update if i get a good one. I was lucky to find an extra small on sale for 70% plus dillards has an additional 40% off the sale price (original price was $188, you do the math) . They might as well give the stuff away. My mom said today, you know nothing fits in your closet because everything you own has ruffles. i said I KNOW! its awesome isn't it?
isn't it? ... ok i guess it's just me then.

reason #6375 i don't shop at agaci

I make it well known to everyone around me that I have an extreme dislike for agaci the store, the clothes...everything! I know that store is quite popular here in brownsville but i HATE it. It is like a cheap imitation of Forever 21, they both have bad chinese manufacturing but everytime i go in there it is like everything that did not make it into Forever 21, they dump on agaci. I have bought stuff there like 3 times since it opened and i actually modeled for them... which i probably won't after this but whatever. Besides the fact i don't like the clothes they sell there, even if i did like something, they sell like 64321654 of each shirt so if you buy a shirt there, you will see 321334 people wearing it as well. I am not judging anyone that shops there, i just have a personal dislike for that store.

Cesar and I were having a lazy day on sunday and we went to the mall for ice cream and to walk around a bit. I saw these sandals at the agaci window and i had been wanting them since i saw them at aldo for 60. Well i went in and checked and they were 17.50 so i wanted to buy all 3 colors, black, gold and silver. But then....

I saw these silver ones which are really cute too. So i asked for ^ in gold and these in silver.I walked out and forgot about the sandals until wednesday... I literally had the silver shoes on for 5 minutes around my house and the strap broke! Shoddy chinese manufacturing... (no pic available :( i tried but when i was going to the girl took them away)

I obviously was going to exchange them and its a good thing i looked in the other box, the other shoes were black instead of gold, so i had to exchange both pairs. That is an extra trip to the mall... I know im there everyday but just in my store, it doesn't mean i walk around the whole mall. PLUS, she returned them and then resold them instead of EXCHANGING them like i told her to so I have to wait until the 45 i paid for both pairs gets refunded into my account. My mom said not to make a big deal because its not like I don't have more money in my account or i need those $45 now....but its the principality of having to wait 3-5 days for your money to be available. I am never shopping there again unless they have something EXTREMELY cute.

extra discount days!

I love it when dillards has an additional discount on top of their sale prices. It makes me very happy and very poor. Lots of cute things to post soon.

i love ruffles

PLastic Island is a new label at Dillards i have become familiar and fond of recently. It runs at around the prices of BCBG and the likes but it has a fun, fancy, twist to the clothing. The sucky thing about working there is that i see all these cute things for months and i kinda keep track of them before i actually get to buy them. The awesome thing is that i have to be there everyday so i get to see when they get marked down. I found my cute dress marked down last wednesday night and i purchased it thursday morning. I was lucky there was a small size and that it actually fit because sometimes i need an xtra small, some people say its a blessing, i saw it can sometimes be a curse. I wore this dress with the betsey coat belt and everyone liked it. I was just too lazy to blog about it. Off until the next sale!

a little late for the little dress

Over the weekend we had valentine's day, another excuse for a dress. I could not manage to get a good picture with my camera and i didn't take my camera to dinner. I only went to Koi for dinner but since i went with cesar (my other ex) i kind of had to dress up a little. That is one reason i broke up with him because he is so very much into appearances and as much i like to dress up, he ALWAYS says something stupid like "what are you gonna wear because i'm sure alot of people are going to see us together and i want you to look good, " and don't get me wrong i love to dress to impress but i don't like people telling me what to do. Aside the point I got this cutee BEBE dress at the outlets hoping not alot of people would have it here in brownsville because everything you buy at BEBE in brownsville you will see 5 girls with the same dress at any given night. The sad part was that i saw it on sale in the brownsville store which made me sad.

Gold and Silver Nail POLISH :)

A trip to sally's beauty supply is never complete without a new shade of nail polish. I originally wanted the Hello Kitty for MAC nail polish in On The Prowl which is a FLAT gray color. Marty's (my exwith commitment issues) last name is Gray so he always gets a a kick out of me wearing that color. The collection sold out right away so i didn't get my paws on any hello kitty MAC stuff. I did however go to Sally's and found a great metallic silver, i normally like flat color nail polishes but this was ok to substitute. I also found the China Glaze in Passion which is a gold tone polish. They just released it for summer i guess because it is the first time i see it and i am and avid polish shopper. I think the silver does have a great impact for "going out" look in peep toe shoes but the gold is more summer, beachy which i am excited about. I'm glad they released this color, it is kind of like Chanel's "Gold Fiction" polish that was released for a limited time in the fall, but does not cost $30. No one will know the difference, except everyone who reads this.

praying for just ONE more day of cold...

So there is a back story to this coat. I like to think all my clothes have their own story. Anyways, this adorable Betsey JOhnson coat was on display all thru the winter season and in went on sale in January. With a $300 price tag, i don't think so, unless it went on mega sale. Which it did. 70% off. YAY. The only thing is that someone purchased the only Medium the day it went on sale! I was depressed, angry, you name it. I am not a medium but i figured, who cares its a coat its not supposed to be fitted, plus Betsey Johnson clothing sizes come very reduced. There was only large left. I figured it was gone forever and i would have to wait for an awesome sale at the Betsey outlet to top that discount but one day i passed by and i saw the coat and i figured it was the large but them i saw this.
For those not familiar with Dillards, they put yellow pop (proof of purchase) labels when you buy something there. It is also a handy little system that saves all the information like purchase date, what you paid with and so on so if you lose your receipt they can still return it. Actually, now that i see it it's kind of stalkerish they have all that information.... But i digress, this coat had a pop label already which means someone returned it. So i ran to it in slow motion like in the movies but mainly because i can't run, and yes it was the lovely medium and someone had returned it. Apparently the sales lady told me that the woman who purchased it realized she needed a large. Quite honestly it pissed me off, she should have just tried it on and let me have me damn coat when it was still cold and i could have still used it this winter and i didn't wait 2 more weeks for her to try it on and realize she's too big for it. Not cool. But it did have a really cute detachable bow belt i can probably wear with a dress or something.

god i love my discount!

i have been wanting some deck shoes for a while now. Don't ask why or what i am going to wear them with, i just wanted them. Anyways, i had seen some cute ones in the children's shoe section but at $50 for something i don't need AND from the kids section, i wasn't having it. They magically went on sale for 70% off and i figured i should try them on, surprisingly i wear a little boys size 3.
